About Me

Hi! My name is Aolin (Allen) Yang. I am a software engineer at Meta working with stabilizing the automated Smart Glasses end-to-end testing infrastructure in order to provide a robust signal to key stakeholders. Some of my hobbies include playing the piano, cooking, studying history, and watching various TV shows.

Education

Texas A&M University, 2018 - 2022

Computer Science, B.S.
Minor in Mathematics
GPA: 3.88
Computer Science Track Honors, University Honors, Corps of Cadets

Experience

Meta - Software Engineer
Burlingame, CA, August 2022 - Present

I developed automated programs and frameworks in Python in order to improve the health and reliability of the Smart Glasses multi-device end-to-end core functionality testing infrastructure. I also wrote and improved upon robust end-to-end stress stability tests in the Jest framework that automate Smart Glasses, Android Phones, and iPhones in order to provide an accurate signal for software regressions. In addition, I drove XFN collaboration with various Smart Glasses feature teams to ensure a smooth launch for Ray-Ban Meta by catching more than 10 regressions and bringing the end-to-end stability to 98%, and I am currently engineering a comprehensive method to utilize test and device logs to automatically triage test failures to the appropriate team, thus reducing manual efforts.

Capital One - Technology Internship Program
Virtual, June 2021 - August 2021

I expedited the emergency authorization process of AWS production account access by writing and systematically testing APIs that manage the authorization of urgent access requests. This reduced AWS production account access-granting latency from 10 minutes to 1 minute. Python was used for writing APIs and AWS Lambda for deployment

Synchrogrid - Software Engineering Intern
College Station, TX, January 2020 - August 2020

I implemented a fault simulation and visualization feature in React.js that allowed business clients to simulate power grid faults. This feature utilized D3 in order to allow clients to visualize fault graphs. The internship was part-time from January to May, then full-time from May to August.

Disaster Prediction Research
College Station, TX, August 2020 - December 2020

I prepared over 50 GB of Hurricane Harvey data for supervised learning by cleaning and extracting necessary information from the data I then trained KNN and SVM models on them in order to compare different models' accuracy when predicting regional flood damage. The preparation & training was performed using multiprocessing on Azure Virtual Machine.

Time-Series Forecasting Research
College Station, TX, January 2020 - April 2020

I researched time-series forecasting and anomaly detection by training Keras LSTM models on swimmer motion data.
